AAI SAS Analyzer

AAI Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Analyzer offers 1.5 and 3.0 Gbps link rates and includes support for scrambling. 6 Gbps SAS Analyzer is currently under development. Single and wide port connections are also supported. Cabling possibilities include SAS and Mini-SAS style connectors.

AAI SAS Analyzer provides the complete Serial Attached SCSI protocol stack. Upper layer protocol support includes:

  • SAS SCSI Protocol (SSP)

  • SAS Transport Protocol (STP)

  • SAS Management Protocol (SMP)

Context-sensitive decodes permit the decoding of inquiry, Mode Page and other pertinent data where the data decode is dependent on the context of the initial request.

SAS Probe Option

With a Probe option that connects to the physical link of the device under test (DUT), the Analyzer can be placed at a convenient location and linked to the Probe via optical cables. This eliminates the problems associated with the didtance limitations of SAS testing.

AAI SAS Probe is the first and only product on the market today that enables unlimited distance to DUT for SAS protocol testing. It features:

  • Up to 2 Gigabyte of capture memory per port, with plans to go to 4Gbps in the near future

  • Up to 32 fully time-correlated ports per system

Working With Other AAI Products

AAI SAS Analyzer can work alone or in conjunction with other AAI products to form a unified test environment under the flexible, scalable, and upgradeable AAI architecture.

AAI Bit Error Rate Tester

Together with a AAI BERT, you will gain complete test capability, from physical link connectivity to upper level protocols.

AAI Protocol Editor

By using AAI Protocol Editor, user data within the SAS frame can be decoded in the Trace Viewer and used as the basis for trigger and filter scenarios. Both Idle Frame and Idle Primitive support are provided. Idle frame filters remove unwanted frames from the capture buffer, extending buffer capture times. The Protocol Editor permits users to add additional filter, trigger and decode information to support additional protocols and services, such as vendor-unique SCSI commands.

AAI Utility Tools

AAI SAS Analyzer, together with AAI Utility Tools, enable you to capture, Display and Transmit facilities support implementations with and without optional CRC fields. API makes test automation easy.

AAI SAS Analyzer Platforms and Configurations

AAI SAS Analyzers are available in several platforms, from highly portable notebooks to high port count rackmounts.
