Newbury Park, Oct 11, 2010 - Absolute Analysis, the worldwide leader in serial interface test solutions, today announced a complete backplane protocol to network protocol testing solution for their Investigator TM flagship test platform. This makes Investigator TM the world's only serial tester that produces time correlated analysis results across multiple backplane protocols like PCI Express and Serial RapdIO to network protocols like Ethernet, FCoE, and Fibre Channel.
This test solution is built on Absolute Analysis' flagship product platform, Investigator TM, which allows it to utilize the platform's full capabilities, including full line rate data capture, full protocol decodes and intuitive display of data, and real time statistics. The platform also provides traffic generation, error injection, and BER testing capabilities to provide a full verification solution.
Designs using multiple protocols are becoming more mainstream, as communication between chips, boards, and systems all use serial busses. Embedded system designers face tough debugging challenges in verifying data flow from one protocol domain to another. The Investigator TM platform simplifies debugging of these environments by seamlessly synchronizing all the protocols on the same hardware platform and a single user interface. As such, the Investigator TM serial test system provides a true multiprotocol testing solution and eliminates the need to buy separate hardware for each protocol.
"The addition of PCI Express and Serial RapidIO to our lineup of supported protocols creates an extremely powerful and unique protocol testing solution." said Dennis Murphy, CEO of Absolute Analysis. "Our customers consistently request support for analysis across an entire system, from the backplane to the network. We're happy to be able to deliver this industry first solution to the market."
The Investigator TM interfaces to a device under test (DUT) using a diverse range of innovative methods, including SMA connectors, a mid-bus probe, and flying leads. Once connected, external triggers will provide integration with logic analyzers and other external test equipment. This will solve one of the big dilemmas for designers needing to debug and test a full data path across multiple protocol domains.
Investigator TM for PCI Express is available and shipping now.
