What is iSCSI? (pronounced eye-skuzzy)
iSCSI is a network storage protocol that moves Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) Input/Output (I/O) traffic over a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Connection, typically using TCP ports 860 and 3260.
Unlike Fibre Channel, which requires special-purpose cabling, iSCSI can be run over long distances using existing network infrastructure.
